Being the pudding lover that I am, I am of the opinion that a special occasion only gets special when there is cake involved. You probably know me well enough by now to well believe that I am always first in the queue, fork at the ready with all dignity forgotten.
Given the (embarrassingly) prevalent role that cake plays in my idea of a good time, I was thrilled when the lovely people at BBC Good Food got in touch to tell me about the brand new Bakes and Cakes Show, which will be hitting up Islington from 25th-27th October. Sponsored by the generous folks at Lexus, the weekend promises a jam-packed (sorry, couldn't resist) schedule of baking, bread-making, cake-crafting demonstrations and free master classes from some of the very baking best including Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood and John Whaite.
If, like me, a weekend full of cake is too tempting an offer to miss out on, then nab yourself a ticket HERE. I'll be there and would LOVE to catch up with you all at the event. And just when I thought the GF gang couldn't get any lovelier, they threw in a cheeky discount code for Pudding Lane readers. Just quote 'EBPAR1' when you're buying your tickets, and you'll get 25% off. If that's not a good enough reason to come and eat cake with me for a weekend, I don't know what is.
If you're planning to come along, i'd love to hear from you! Ping me an email at lkburton121@gmail.com.
